Create, assign, and track assignments within the Instructor Dashboard to enhance student engagement and improve learning outcomes.
How do I create an Assignment?
Step 1: From your Instructor Dashboard, choose the Assignments tab at the top of the screen.
Step 2: Click the “Create New” button
Step 3: Customize your Assignment
Set your Dates
The “Available Date” is when your assignment will be visible and available to your students.
The “Due Date” is when your assignment is due. After 11:59 PM on this date, it will no longer be available to your students.
Step 4: Click “Publish Assignment”
Can I edit an assignment after I've published it?
You can edit or delete assignments at any time. Depending on the status of the assignment, certain aspects will no longer be editable.
If the Assignment is available, its details are no longer editable. Students can be added to an assignment, but not removed. Also, dates can be updated.
If the Assignment is closed, the only item that can be edited is the Due Date that has passed.
If the Assignment is a draft, the assignment’s name, subjects, difficulty, and the number of questions available can be updated. Please note that exam versions cannot be changed at this point.
If the Assignment is upcoming, the Assignment’s name, subjects, students, difficulty, the number of questions available, and “Available” and “Due” dates can be edited.
If the Assignment was created when this feature was in Beta, students and dates can be added to it. Students cannot be removed from legacy assignments.
How do students access my Assignments?
When students are given an Assignment, they will automatically see it appear in their mobile or web Pocket Prep app in the “Assignments” button. They will also see a badge indicator in their app alerting them that they have been assigned a new assignment.
Assignments can only be attempted by students once. If students quit an assignment midway through, they will lose their progress. We suggest that you ensure your assignments can be completed in one session to avoid your students losing their progress.
Are there any other ways to share my Assignments?
Assignments can be shared with your students with a unique link. If you click on the three dots (more options), you can copy a unique link to send to your students directly.
What happens to the assignments that I made with the beta assignment feature?
They are migrated over, they are still available by shareable link, and they will appear in the app once the educator adds available and due dates.
